The Swedish gambling regulator recently imposed fines on a couple of gaming companies. Spooniker, owned by Kindred Group, was fined 30 million Swedish krona ($2.7 million) for questionable bonuses and unauthorized lottery games outside their license.

Green gaming company Mr Green was also penalized – 1.5 million for anti-money laundering violations, and 12 million for not properly vetting customers. They appealed but were denied, so those fines will stand. For context, licensed gambling brought in over 6 billion krona last quarter in Sweden, so these fines are minor for these large operators.

In other Sweden developments, they finally signed on to the Macolin Convention to aid the global fight against match-fixing. It's about time! That kind of corruption has no place in sports.
