Not long ago, Italy’s authority responsible for monitoring and controlling gambling activities permanently put an end to Multigioco SRL’s operations, and the way things were done left much to be desired. The Agenzia delle dogane e dei Monopoli (ADM) has formally rescinded the company’s online gaming license after, in their opinion, giving them insufficient time to resolve their financial disaster.
On 1st August, ADM handed Multigioco a notice, allowing them 20 days to put their house in order. In fact, that deadline came and went, and now the whole situation has gone public with their license officially toast.
It’s a detailed story of financial mismanagement, told from a document of the ADM. The list of things due to them is complete with unpaid taxes, fines, interest, etc. But the joke is on them: it was not only the government being taken advantage of. Players and account holders are coming up with loads of reports about money owed to them.
Besides, the unpaid debts went to a pretty large extent. The company not only neglected to pay concession fees but also extension costs and contributions to the Italian Sports Rescue Fund on several occasions. Now, they are facing not only the loss of their permit but also criminal investigations.
